Meet The Team
Leslie Ann Kalman, CA has extensive business experience with start-up companies, taking them from the inception stage to public success. As a consultant she has provided advice to many different companies, non-profits, and municipal governments in the areas of business and strategic plans; investor presentations; budgets; financial forecasts and statements; grants; policies and advising on methods to improve corporate performance and profitability. She has worked with many companies in the oil and gas, educational, high tech, medical, recreation and service industries. Leslie Ann also oversaw the successful renovations and operations of an ice arena for ten years. Leslie Ann is passionate about the importance of healthy physical lifestyles and public access to recreational facilities.
Sandie is a resident of Cochrane and believes in giving back to the community she has chosen to live in. Using the strong organizational skills, which she developed at PNR Railworks, Glenbow Elementary and ATB, where she worked in various administrative capacities, she has helped the Town of Cochrane in many volunteer positions. She was instrumental in having the Early Childhood Services included as part of the schools at Glenbow Elementary and Rocky View School Division. She was also an active Board member of the Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club and helped them to acquire safe and professional soccer fields in Cochrane. She was the Treasurer and Secretary of the Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club for approximately 10 years. Sandie strongly believes in public education and the need for safe and accessible facilities for people of all ages to learn, grow and be physically active.
Carmen Ng, B.Comm, Marketing and SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation. Carmen has gained significant and varied business experience in her role as a Pursuit Manager with the National Proposal Team in Management Consulting at KPMG. She is a strong leader and team player as evidenced by her skills in developing strategies, advising, managing processes, evaluating requirements, negotiating with clients, developing timelines and accountabilities. All activities are executed with an operational mindset and a conscientious perspective of the customer’s overall experience. Carmen brings over five years of proposal writing and editing experience. Previously, Carmen served as a Board member for 2.5 years with the Arlington Condo Association. Carmen enjoys and understands the importance of being active as she is an avid snowboarder, runner, hiker, surfer, and downhill mountain biker.
Jamie McInnis, B. of Secondary Ed., M.Ed., in Policy, PMP designation, Professional Writing Certification Business and Technical Writing. Jamie started her career as a teacher working for the Rocky View School District for 7 years. Although she loved teaching, she pursued her Masters in Policy which facilitated a career change to a new role as Program Manager in scientific fundamental and applied research at the University of Calgary, and she is now a Senior Grants Officer at SAIT. Her excellent writing skills have enabled her to secure over $60 million in grant funding. Jamie was a very active Board member at CUPs-Calgary Urban Project Society for two years and is currently an Alumni Board Member Active Living UofC since Sept. 2014. Jamie is also very passionate about physical activity, and is the President of Run! Inc Consulting, where she has assisted many corporations and their employees, and other individuals achieve training and running goals.
Jeff Angel, BA, Political Science. Jeff has an extensive background in crisis communications, corporate communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, marketing and brand positioning and currently works in these areas as a consultant. Jeff has held a number of executive positions in his career including Senior Vice President Communications, The Americas, for British Airways, where he was responsible for the North American crisis response to the crash of Concorde and her subsequent relaunch. Jeff has also worked with many large companies and governments such as Westjet, Canadian Airlines, TC Energy, Enbridge, Shell, 3M, the Edmonton Oilers, the federal government and eight provincial governments and the Cities of Edmonton and Calgary in these crucial areas. Jeff is a Board member of the Pumphouse Theatres Society (2008-present) and the SEEDS foundation (Society for Environment and Energy Development Studies) from 2009-2018. He was also Chairman of the North American Airline Public Relations Association from 2004-2005. As a former Calgary Colts player, playing in the Prairie Junior Football Leagues, Jeff is still very passionate about football and the need for physical activity for young people.
Tommy Knitter B.Sc in Kinesiology & B.Ed is a product of Cochrane minor athletics. Tommy competed nationally as a member of Football Alberta, for the Calgary Colts of The Canadian Junior Football League and as a student-athlete with the University of Calgary Dinos Football team of U-Sports. After graduating from the University of Calgary, he returned as an Assistant Coach and Special Teams Coordinator for the Dinos Football team while pursuing a degree in education. Tommy brings a passion to for successful team development to the athletics programs at Cochrane High School where he serves as the Athletic Director and volunteer coach of multiple sports teams. He teaches Physical Education and Sports Performance and has a background as a strength and conditioning coach formerly at the Olympic Oval. Tommy believes in engaging leadership and developing life skills through coaching and athletics.
